Welcome, I’m Renad
Hi, and thank you for being here. I’m Renad, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I work with individuals aged 7 and up—including children, youth, adults, and older adults—who are facing emotional or psychological challenges and are looking for support in navigating life’s ups and downs.
Many of the people I work with come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional regulation, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), life transitions, family concerns, or cultural identity issues, I’m here to support you. I’m especially passionate about creating a safe, affirming space for individuals from marginalized and underrepresented communities.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent several years working as a Behavioural and Educational Therapist, supporting children with developmental and learning needs. That experience taught me a great deal about patience, adaptability, and the power of small steps—and it continues to shape how I work with clients and families today.
In our work together, you can expect a supportive, non-judgmental space where your voice matters. My approach is integrative and person-centered, drawing from modalities like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and mindfulness-based strategies. Together, we’ll focus on building practical tools, deepening self-understanding, and creating a path toward the changes that matter most to you.
Starting therapy is a brave step. If you feel ready—or even just curious—I’d be honoured to walk alongside you on this journey.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure, you’re not alone—and help is just a click away. Take the first step towards feeling better by booking your FREE 20-minute consultation today. Let’s talk about how we can work together to support your mental health and create a path toward healing. Your well-being matters, and we’re here for you. Book your consultation now.

Meet Michael, with over 25 years of dedicated experience in the mental health field, Michael has established himself as a prominent figure in adolescent and adult mental health, specializing in sex therapy, and addressing sexual dysfunctions and gender identity concerns. He also has extensive experience in mood and anxiety disorders in both adults and adolescents. His compassionate approach, combined with an extensive background in workplace mental health, empowers individuals and organizations to achieve psychological well-being.
Michael:
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My journey in the field of mental health began back in 1998, and ever since, I’ve been deeply committed to supporting individuals on their unique paths to healing and growth. At MindSpa, I believe in the power of personalized therapy, and I work collaboratively with each client to create a welcoming space that caters to your individual needs.
Throughout my career, I’ve focused on supporting adults and adolescents, survivors of trauma, and people affected by mood disorders, especially depression and chronic depression. I’ve been a therapist, a program designer and director, and a consultant to organizations, but my greatest interest is in providing therapy.
I hold a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Manitoba and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Winnipeg. I’m continually pursuing professional development to ensure I provide the best possible support for my clients. My further postgraduate studies in sex therapy and sexuality grew out of an interest in a subject that remains misunderstood, despite the enormous role it plays in our lives and the many social changes in our views on the subject.
I’m also humbled to have received a Ministerial Commendation from Veterans Affairs Canada for my work with veterans, which has deepened my commitment to integrity, respect, and making meaningful contributions to the lives of those I serve. If you’re looking for a caring guide on your journey toward a brighter, healthier future, I would be honored to accompany you. Remember, you don’t have to face this alone—we can explore these paths together.

Overview
I am a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology intern passionate about supporting teens and adults as they navigate life’s challenges. My approach is rooted in compassion, openness, and cultural sensitivity, with the goal of creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel understood and empowered to grow.
I recognize how systemic barriers, cultural pressures, and racial issues can shape mental health, especially during adolescence and young adulthood. My background working in the school system has given me insight into the unique challenges teens face, whether academic stress, identity struggles, or social pressures. I am committed to walking alongside clients as they build resilience, strengthen self-esteem, and find tools to cope with life’s demands.
As an intern, I offer reduced-rate therapy to make mental health support more accessible for teens, adults, and families in Ottawa’s East End, without compromising quality of care. My goal is to provide a space where you feel heard, validated, and supported in moving forward with confidence.
How I Can Help
Together, we’ll explore what’s weighing you down and begin building tools for relief, resilience, and growth. I support clients navigating challenges such as:
- Stress and anxiety
- Burnout
- Mood and emotional well-being
- Self-esteem and personal growth
- Family and relationship dynamics
- Life transitions and adjustments
- Academic pressures and performance concerns
…I’ll walk alongside you with compassion and practical strategies.
My Approach
I believe therapy works best when it’s tailored to you. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, drawing on evidence-based therapies like:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): to shift unhelpful thoughts and patterns
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): to help you live with more balance and resilience
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): to highlight your strengths and create meaningful steps forward
I view therapy as an opportunity for discovery, healing, and growth. With the right support, individuals can uncover strengths, build resilience, and make meaningful changes in their lives.
Why Work With Me
I know seeking therapy can feel daunting, especially when you’re already feeling overwhelmed. My role is not to “fix” you, but to help you uncover your strengths, build coping strategies, and move toward healing at a pace that feels right for you.
