Renad – Therapist-in-Training (Master’s Student, Under Clinical Supervision)
Hello, I’m Renad, a therapist-in-training currently completing my master’s-level education in counselling and psychotherapy. I provide counselling services to individuals aged 10 and up—including children, youth, adults, and seniors—under the supervision of a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
I support clients who may be navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional regulation difficulties, family and cultural issues, and life transitions. I am especially passionate about working with marginalized communities and am committed to creating an inclusive, affirming, and safe space for all clients.
Prior to entering this field, I worked as a Behavioural and Educational Therapist, supporting children with developmental and learning needs. That experience has greatly informed my current approach and continues to shape how I support individuals and families.
My counselling style is integrative and person-centered, drawing from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies. I believe that growth happens in a supportive and collaborative space, and I aim to help clients build practical tools, enhance self-awareness, and work toward meaningful change.
> Please note: As a therapist-in-training, I am not a member of the CRPO and do not practice psychotherapy as defined in the Regulated Health Professions Act. All services are provided under clinical supervision.

Navigating life can be difficult, especially when you’re in new territory. Feelings of depression or anxiety can spiral into more fears and doubts. Being a young adult brings all sorts of pressure, and most of us don’t get much education in how to make that transition. It’s common to cope by avoiding, using drugs or alcohol, or isolating. Fortunately, things can improve. Life may never be perfect, but you can learn new skills and effective ways of dealing with challenges. I work with teens and adults of all ages, and specialize in helping young adults and couples who want to feel more confident, accepted, and joyful in the world. I believe in evidence-based approaches that are shown to make a long-term difference in people’s lives. I offer therapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), EMDR, and for couples, the world-famous Gottman Method. Most importantly, we will work together to identify your goals and begin a plan to work towards them.
I know many people have gone to therapy in the past and still feel like they’re spinning their wheels. I can’t promise we’ll solve all of your problems, but those who are committed to working on themselves often tell me they have more certainty, confidence, and relief following therapy. Contact me today to schedule your first appointment and get started.

I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I tailor therapy to fit you—your story, your pace, and your goals.
🧠 Therapeutic Approach
I draw from a range of evidence-informed modalities based on your unique needs, including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Attachment-based frameworks
- Elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Together, we’ll work to build insight, emotional resilience, and self-compassion, and identify what’s getting in the way of the life you want to lead.
🌈 Inclusive and Collaborative Care
I’m committed to offering a safe, affirming space where you can show up just as you are. I welcome clients of all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.

Offering Art Therapy and Psychotherapy for Adults and Youth
📍 Virtual services available across Ontario
Are you looking for a creative and compassionate approach to therapy? I’m Melissa, a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a professional member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association. I offer both talk therapy and art therapy to support individuals as they navigate a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.
I hold a Master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapies (Art Therapy concentration) from Concordia University and have over three years of clinical experience supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, and more.
🎨 What is Art Therapy?
Art therapy offers a powerful way to explore emotions, reduce stress, and foster healing—no art experience required. It allows clients to express themselves beyond words, supporting self-awareness, emotional regulation, and insight. Whether you choose to incorporate art-making into your sessions or prefer traditional talk therapy, I work with you to find what feels most supportive.
🧠 Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is client-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive. I work through an intersectional and anti-oppressive lens, respecting each client’s unique background, identity, and lived experience. I integrate a blend of therapeutic models, including:
- Psychodynamic Therapy
- Person-Centered Therapy
- Compassion-Focused Therapy
- Strength-Based and Resilience-Oriented Approaches
In every session, I aim to provide a warm, safe, and collaborative space where you feel supported and understood.
🔍 Areas of Focus
I support clients navigating:
- Anxiety and depression
- ADHD and attention-related concerns
- Burnout and stress
- Trauma and PTSD
- Grief and loss
- Racial trauma and identity-related challenges
- Relationship and family dynamics
- Chronic pain and health-related distress
- Low self-esteem and self-criticism
- Suicidal ideation and emotional overwhelm
🌈 Inclusive, Respectful, and Empowering Care
I welcome individuals from all backgrounds and communities, and I am committed to providing inclusive care that affirms your identity, values, and goals. My work is grounded in collaboration and consent, with a focus on helping you feel empowered and understood.
